Patricia Cornwell is a bestselling fiction crime writer with more than 100 million books sold. Over the last 25 years, her Scarpetta series has grown into an international phenomenon and have won various literary awards.
Cornwell published a brand-new novel annually between 2007 – 2016 and I was able to execute various large-scale advertising campaigns for each title. The most exciting designs are the billboards and airport dioramas that appeared in New York City, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Chicago. The billboard in Times Square is a unique space nearly four stories tall resembling a book with a “spine.”
For each novel, I also produced full-page New York Times, USA Today, and Wall Street Journal announcement ads that ran on the hardcover sale date. Digital ad campaigns were also created for each novel and targeted to various websites such as People.com, NYTimes.com, and Pandora, directly reaching Cornwell’s audience.
